TAG, which stands for Taxi Air Group, was founded in Cleveland, Ohio in 1955. They merged with Illini Airlines of Rockford, Illinois in 1957. The airline moved to Detroit in July, 1958. The airline ceased operations on August 7, 1970 not long after one of its planes crashed into Lake Erie killing all nine people aboard.
